Background: Nutritional status is still a global concern, in 2022 WHO announced that 45.0 million children will be underweight compared to their height. One direct factor that can influence a child's nutritional status is the provision of MP-ASI. The nutritional status of children is closely related to the provision of MP-ASI. The results of a survey conducted at the Pantee Bidari Community Health Center obtained data from 10 babies, it turned out that 7 of them had normal weight gain every month and 3 of them did not have normal weight gain. Research Objective: to determine the effect of the suitability of giving MP-ASI on weight gain in babies aged 6-12 months. Research Methodology: The research design used in this research is cross sectional. The number of samples taken using the Slovin formula was 53 samples. This research was carried out at the Pantee Bidari Community Health Center, Pantee Bidari District, East Aceh Regency. Data analysis used the chi square test. Research Results: The majority of babies' weight gain was in the non-increasing category at 30 (43.3%), the majority of MP-ASI suitability was in the inappropriate category at 29 (54.7%). The results of bivariate analysis of the effect of MP-ASI suitability on baby weight gain obtained a p value = 0.962. Conclusion: there is no influence on the suitability of giving MP-ASI on weight gain in babies. Suggestion: Health workers are expected to be able to provide health education to mothers about the importance of giving appropriate and appropriate MP-ASI to their babies so that the baby's weight can increase well each month.
