The data shows a decline in the MMR indicator (per 100,000 live births) from 390 in 1991 to 230 in 2020 (down -1.80% per year). This figure has not yet reached the 2015 MDG target, which is 102 and the 2030 SDGs, which is less than 70 per 100,000 KH. In the IMR indicator, data shows IMR decreased from 68 in 1991 to 24 in 2017 (down -3.93% per year). Similar to MMR, the rate of decline in IMR has not yet reached the 2015 MDGs target of 23 and the 2030 SDGs target of 12. This research is qualitative with a case study approach. This study intends to explore in depth the experiences of postpartum mothers on culture in postpartum care. The selection of participants was done by snow ball sampling. The number of participants in this study was as many as 13 participants. Results: The majority of participants' knowledge of personal hygiene during the postpartum period did not seek information about their preparation for the postpartum period. They only receive information they get from health workers after giving birth when they return home. Participant's knowledge about the adap of breastfeeding in an Islamic perspective is still lacking, because the mother has never received information about the adap of breastfeeding in an Islamic.
Keywords: postpartum period, personal hygiene and breastfeeding adaptation
