The skin is an organ that is the outer surface of the organism and limits the body's internal environment to the external environment. The skin functions to protect tissues against chemical and physical damage, especially mechanical damage and against the entry of microorganisms. Maintaining healthy skin is not only done with foods rich in nutrients, but can be done by providing nutrients from the outside. Scrub is a cosmetic preparation that is used to treat and clean the skin and dirt that causes dead skin cells and is assisted by the presence of antioxidants. One of the natural ingredients known and proven to be effective as an antioxidant is Coffee (Coffea arabica Linn.) with a rough texture containing scrub granules which are very good for premature aging, removing dead skin cells and moisturizing the skin. Coffee contains antioxidant compounds. This high antioxidant helps protect the skin from free radicals and brightens the skin. The method used in this research is experimental laboratory. The results obtained are that Formula 3 has a better skin brightness level than the comparison preparation, namely the traditional Balinese Herborst scrub, this is due to the effect of 15% coffee grounds concentration which contains flavonoid and antioxidant compounds. The formulation of scrub preparations can increase the brightness of the skin as seen from the results of the ANOVA test where there are significant differences between treatments. The best formulation is the 15% formulation, because the higher the composition of coffee grounds, the faster the occurrence of skin brightening. skin lightening, the higher the concentration of coffee grounds (Coffea arabica linn) the more effective it is as a lightener and has high antioxidant activity.
