The husband has quite a big responsibility in determining the mother's health status. A good husband's support can provide good motivation to mothers in undergoing pregnancy checks until the breastfeeding period. The low level of exclusive breastfeeding by breastfeeding mothers in Indonesia is influenced by internal and external factors. External factors include lack of support from husbands, family, community, health workers, the influence of formula milk advertising, social culture and the lack of availability of maternal and child health service facilities. Research Objective: To determine the relationship between husband's support and the frequency of baby sucking on the smooth flow of breast milk in breastfeeding mothers in the Baiturrahman Community Health Center Working Area, Banda Aceh City. Research Method: This research method is analytical using a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted on 8-13 November 2023 at the Baiturrahman Community Health Center, Baiturrahman District, Banda Aceh City with a sample size of 78 people. The research instrument is a questionnaire. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate with the SPSS statistical program. Research results: The statistical test results showed that husband's support for the smooth flow of breast milk, the Chi Square value was obtained p value = 0.008 (P<0.05), meaning that there was a relationship between husband's support for the smooth flow of breast milk, while the statistical test results for baby sucking) and Chi Square were obtained p value = 0.442 (P>0.05), meaning that there is no relationship between baby sucking and the flow of breast milk. Conclusion: A husband who has full attention and is able to meet the needs of his wife and children during breastfeeding will influence the smooth flow of breast milk. In this study, baby sucking was not related to the flow of breast milk. Suggestion: It is hoped that the Baiturrahma Community Health Center can increase knowledge about smooth breastfeeding in breastfeeding mothers.
