The Balakacida plant is a type of plant from the Asteraceae Compositae family which is often used by people as traditional medicine, and has active compounds in the form of alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, saponins and phenolics which are able to inhibit the oxidation process. Meanwhile, tannin compounds can be used to prevent wound infections because they have antiseptic and burn wound healing properties. The aim of the research was to determine the activity of administering balakacida leaf ethanol extract ointment and its optimal dose on the healing process of burn wounds in white mice. This research was experimental, the extract was obtained using the maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent, 25 male mice were divided into
5 treatment groups, namely: negative control (DMSO), positive control (Bioplacenton), balakacida leaf extract ointment 100 mg, ointment balakacida leaf extract 200 mg and balakacida leaf extract ointment 300 mg. The parameters observed included the healing time of the burn wound and the length of the wound (cm). Data analysis used the one-way Anova test which stated that the significance value was p < 0.05, this shows that balakacida leaf extract ointment had an effect on healing burns in white mice. From the research results, balakacida extract can provide a healing effect on burn wounds in mice (Mus musculus), where the F3 concentration ointment (300 mg) is faster in closing burn wounds compared to the balakacida leaf extract ointment with F1 (100 mg) and F2 (200 mg) concentrations.). It can be concluded that administering ethanol extract ointment from balakacida leaves (Chomolaena odorata) can cure mice with burns. A concentration of 300 mg (F3) is the best concentration in accelerating the healing of burn wounds. It is recommended to carry out further research regarding the isolation of the main secondary metabolite compounds in balakacida leaf extract using non-polar solvents so that the work of the required secondary metabolite compounds can be maximized.
