Abstract

Abstrak

Bunga Catharanthus roseus diketahui mengandung berbagai senyawa bioaktif yang bernilai penting, seperti alkaloid vincristine, vindoline, serta kelompok flavonoid dan senyawa fenolik, yang memiliki potensi farmakologis yang luas. Artikel ini menyajikan tinjauan pustaka mengenai eksplorasi senyawa-senyawa tersebut pada bunga tapak dara dan keterkaitannya dengan pengembangan obat herbal modern dalam kurun waktu lima tahun terakhir. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa senyawa-senyawa ini memiliki aktivitas biologis yang menonjol, termasuk sifat antikanker, antiinflamasi, antioksidan, dan antidiabetik. Pemanfaatan pendekatan bioteknologi dan teknologi formulasi terkini, seperti multi-omik dan nanoteknologi, berkontribusi signifikan dalam meningkatkan produksi serta efektivitas senyawa bioaktif tersebut. Namun demikian, proses standarisasi, pengujian toksisitas, dan validasi klinis tetap diperlukan untuk memastikan keamanan dan kemanjurannya. Kajian ini memberikan landasan ilmiah yang kuat untuk mendukung potensi Catharanthus roseus sebagai kandidat dalam pengembangan fitofarmaka berbasis evidensi.
