Dampak Konsumsi Energi Terbarukan Terhadap Pertumbuhan Ekonomi: Studi di Asia Tenggara

Pemenuhan kebutuhan energi bagi suatu negara di era modern ini merupakan hal yang sangat penting dalam mendukung kegiatan ekonomi. Penggunaan energi yang berlebihan dimana energi-energi tersebut yang berasal dari alam seperti halnya minyak bumi, gas, batu bara dan lainnya dapat menimbulkan efek negatif bagi lingkungan. Untuk itu pihak berwenang harus berupaya mencari alternatif penyediaan energi lain yang dapat menggantikan sumber energi yang berdampak buruk bagi lingkungan. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model pendekata OLS dan data yang digunakan adalah PDB per-kapita, Pembentukan Modal Tetap Bruto (PMTB), Jumlah Pekerja, dan Konsumsi Energi Terbarukan (Renewable Energy Consumption) di kelompok negara Asean dalam kurun waktu 1991-2013. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi energi terbarukan memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi di negara-negara Asean, meskipun dalam jumlah yang kecil. Oleh karena disarankan kepada para pemimpin di negara Asean meningkatkan kerjasama dalam bentuk pengembangan dan memperbesar investasi di bidang energi terbarukan, agar penggunaannya semakin maksimal dan memberi dampak positif bagi pertumbuhan ekonomi sekaligus lingkungan yang terus terjaga.
