PEMBELAJARAN STUDENT TEAMS ACHIEVEMENT DIVISIONS (STAD) DAPAT MENINGKATKAN PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA KELAS VIII.3 MATERI LINGKARAN PELAJARAN MATEMATIKA PADA SMP NEGERI 2 SIMEULUE TIMUR

Abstrak
Di sekolah bidang studi matematika seharusnya memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa mampu mempelajari situasi yang dapat dibayangkan atau mempunyai kaitan dengan dunia nyata. Berdasarkan observasi yang dilakukan di SMP Negeri 2 Simeulue Timur khususnya pada kelas VIII.3 ditemukan beberapa permasalahan dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian Tindakan kelas (PTK) di laksanakan di SMP Negeri 2 Simeulue Timur Kabupatan Simeulue Tahun ajaran 2009/2010 dengan jumlah siswa 36 orang yang terdiri dari 18 orang laki-laki 18 perempuan. Penelitian di laksanakan selama 3 bulan. Pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan pada hari-hari efektif sesuai dengan jadwal jam pelajaran. Dari hasil penelitian, dapat dilihat dan telah terjadi peningkatan pemahaman Keliling Lingkaran dan Luas Lingkaran pada siswa kelas VIII.3 Negeri 2 pada semester I tahun pelajaran 2009/2010 melalui penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif model Student Teams Achivement Division. Peningkatan nilai rata- rata yaitu 53,86 pada kondisi awal menjadi 66,94 pada siklus I dan menjadi 74,44 pada siklus II. Nilai rata-rata siklus I meningkat 24,86 % dari kondisi awal, nilai rata-rata siklus II meningkat 11,20 % dari siklus I. Sedangkan ketuntasan belajar pada siklus I ada peningkatan sebesar 44,40 % dari kondisi awal, siklus II meningkat 91,66 % dari siklus II. Peningkatan nilai rata-rata kelas secara keseluruhan sebesar 47,26 % .
