PENGGUNAAN METODE GRAPHIC ORGANIZER UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BAHASA INGGRIS DALAM KETERAMPILAN MENULIS

Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Calang pada awal bulan Januari sampai Maret 2020 bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa inggris khususnya keterampilan menulis melalui penggunaan metode Graphic Organizer bagi siswa kelas X IPA1 SMA Negeri 1 Calang yang berjumlah 22 siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang terdiri atas 2 siklus. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes menulis. Secara umum siswa dapat dikatakan sudah mengalami peningkatan dalam berbicara dilihat dari hasil siklus 1. Secara keseluruhan siklus dan tindakan atas penilain yang diperoleh dari siklus 1 adalah tidak ditemukan kemampuan siswa pada penilaian sangat baik, penilaian baik dengan 9,09%, dan penilain cukup 81,81% dan penilain kurang dengan 9,09%. Sedangkan dengan hasil kriteria penilaian ,paragraph organization : 61,13%, cohesion adalah: 55,68%, structure and mechanics adalah 56,81% , vocabulary use adalah 62,5% dan content adalah 64,77%. Sedangkan pada hasil siklus 2 ditemukan kemampuan siswa pada penilaian sangat baik, penilaian baik dengan 9,09%, dan penilain baik 40,9% dan penilain cukup dengan 55% . Sedangkan dengan hasil kriteria penilaian ,paragraph organization : 76,13%, cohesion adalah: 70,45%, structure and mechanics adalah 67,04% , vocabulary use adalah 65,9% dan content adalah 71,59% .

This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Calang in early January to March 2020 aimed at improving English language skills, especially writing skills through the use of the Graphic Organizer method for the class X IPA1 students of SMA Negeri 1 Calang, totaling 22 students. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR) which consists of 2 cycles. The research instrument was a writing test. In general, students can be said to have experienced an increase in speaking seen from the results of cycle 1. Overall, the cycle and actions for the assessment obtained from cycle 1 are not found in the students' ability in very good assessment, good assessment with 9.09%, and sufficient assessment 81 ,81% and less rating with 9,09% . Meanwhile, with the results of the assessment criteria, paragraph organization: 61.13%, cohesion is: 55.68%, structure and mechanics is 56.81%, vocabulary use is 62.5% and content is 64.77%.While the results of cycle 2 found that the students' ability in the assessment was very good, the assessment was good with 9.09%, and the assessment was good at 40.9% and the assessment was sufficient with 55%. Meanwhile, with the results of the assessment criteria, paragraph organization: 76.13%, cohesion is: 70.45%, structure and mechanics is 67.04%, vocabulary use is 65.9% and content is 71.59%
