In teaching and learning activities, the role of motivation is very necessary because it is one of the causes of high or low quality of learning outcomes, especially in mathematics lessons. This condition can be seen if there is a motivational contribution to student learning outcomes. The aim of this research is to determine whether there is a contribution of motivation to students' mathematics learning outcomes at MTsN 2 Aceh Besar for the 2022/2023 academic year. The approach used is a quantitative approach with a correlational descriptive type. The population is all class VIII students at MTsN 2 Aceh Besar. The sample was determined using a random sampling technique, so that the sample selected was class VIII-4. Data collection was carried out using motivation questionnaires and student learning outcomes tests. The data is processed using a simple correlation test to determine the coefficient of determination after the test prerequisites are met. After the data was processed, a correlation was obtained, namely r = 0.478, with a value of 0.40-0.599, thus the level of relationship between motivation and students' mathematics learning outcomes was classified as a fairly strong positive correlation. Based on the analysis of the coefficient of determination of learning motivation, which is 22.8484%, which is classified as low in influencing student learning outcomes, so it can be concluded that motivation has a contribution to student learning outcomes at MTsN 2 Aceh Besar. Based on the research results, it is hoped that it can be a reference for teachers to pay more attention to student motivation so that they have high motivation, so that students can easily solve problems and get maximum learning results.
