MINAT ORANG TUA DALAM MEMILIH JENJANG PENDIDIKAN DASAR DI KABUPATEN NAGAN RAYA

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui minat orang tua dari Gampong Cot Mee yang menyekolahkan anaknya di MIN Kuala Tadu dan untuk mengetahui minat orang tua dari Gampong Kuala Tadu yang menyekolahkan anaknya di SD Cot Mee. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu menela’ah, mengumpulkan, menyusun, mengklarifikasikan, dan menggambarkan masalah yang ada pada saat sekarang. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara langsung kepada para orang tua yang ditetapkan sebagai sampel dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alasan orang tua memilih MIN untuk menyekolahkan anaknya adalah: (a) mutu pendidikan, (b) mata pelajaran/kurikulum pendidikan, (c) program-program pendidikan yang dikembangkan sekolah, (d) progres kemampuan anak dalam baca-tulis, (e) kemudahan dalam pelayanan sekolah (seperti: syarat masuk murid baru), dan (f) integrasi ilmu dengan agama yang berimbas pada akidah, akhlak dan perilaku anak. Sedangkan alasan orang tua memilih SD untuk menyekolahkan anaknya, antara lain: (a) mutu pendidikan, (b) mata pelajaran/kurikulum pendidikan, (c) program-program pendidikan yang dikembangkan sekolah (ekstrakurikuler dan perlombaan), (d) progres kemampuan anak dalam baca-tulis, (e) letak sekolah dengan lingkungan tempat tinggal, (f) efektivitas KBM yang sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman, (g) faktor lingkungan (banyak anak yang bersekolah di tempat tersebut), (h) keinginan siswa sendiri, (i) pendekatan guru secara personil dengan orang tua, (j) kedisiplinan guru dan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, (k) kenyamanan belajar serta fasilitas gedung yang baik dan memadai, (l) tenaga guru yang profesional dalam bidangnya, dan (m) sistem pembelajaran yang konkrit.

The purpose of this study was to determine the interest of parents from Gampong Cot Mee in sending their children to MIN Kuala Tadu and to find out the interests of parents from Gampong Kuala Tadu in sending their children to SD Cot Mee. This research method is a qualitative descriptive method, which examines, collects, compiles, classifies, and describes the problems that exist at the moment. While the data collection technique in this study was direct interviews with parents who were selected as samples in this study. The results showed that the reasons for parents choosing MIN to send their children to school were: (a) quality of education, (b) educational subjects/curriculum, (c) educational programs developed by schools, (d) progress of children's ability to read and write , (e) convenience in school services (such as: requirements for entering new students), and (f) integration of science and religion which has an impact on the faith, morals and behavior of children. While the reasons for parents choosing SD to send their children to school include: (a) quality of education, (b) educational subjects/curriculum, (c) educational programs developed by schools (extracurriculars and competitions), (d) progress of children's abilities in literacy, (e) the location of the school and the environment where they live, (f) the effectiveness of teaching and learning in accordance with the times, (g) environmental factors (many children go to school in that place), (h) the wishes of the students themselves, (i ) the teacher's personal approach with parents, (j) the discipline of teachers and students in the learning process, (k) the comfort of learning and good and adequate building facilities, (l) teachers who are professional in their fields, and (m) a learning system that concrete.
