PENGAJARAN MATERI TENSES MELALUI METODE STUDENTS TO STUDENTS DAN METODE TEACHER TO STUDENTS

Tenses perlu dikuasai karena kegunaannya yang penting dalam ragam bahasa tulis dan juga dalam ragam bahasa lisan demi penyampaian pesan dengan tepat kepada pendengar atau pembaca. Berdasarkan beberapa penelitian sebelumnya terkait dengan grammar (tatabahasa) banyak siswa kesulitan menguasai tenses karena banyaknya teori tentang materi tenses yang harus dikuasai meskipun mereka telah mempelajarinya dari tingkat dasar. Selain itu dalam proses belajar mengajar tersebut, sang guru mengajarkan teori secara konvesional dimana guru mengajar siswa mendengar. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bermaksud untuk melihat penggunaan metode diskusi presentasi students to students dan metode teacher centre untuk mengetahui pemahaman mahasiswa akan materi tenses. Penelitian ini ditujukan pada 29 orang mahasiswa Unversitas Ubudiyah Indonesia dari jurusan DIII Kebidanan dan Farmasi. Data yang diambil dari tes dan observasi menunjukkan hasil bahwa melalui metode teacher centre menunjukkan peserta didik lebih paham dengan materi tenses sementara melalui metode students to students peserta didik tanpak ragu dan bimbang yang tidak hanya dirasakan oleh peserta didik yang bertindak sebagai kelompok presentasi tetapi juga kelompok pendengar presentasi. Sementara dari hasil observasi selama proses belajar mengajar diketahui bahwa suasana kelas saat metode diskusi presentasi students to students lebih rileks daripada saat metode teacher centre diaplikasikan. Dari pelaksanaan kedua metode ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kedua metode memiliki keuntungan dan kerugian sehingga sebaiknya keduanya saling beriringan dalam pengaplikasian di ruang kelas, khususnya untuk materi tenses.

Publication decisions
