Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum innovation is one manifestation of the development of the Islamic education system. In the midst of the rapid pace of educational innovation in the context of curriculum development, PAI teachers often feel confused about dealing with it. And these educational innovations tend to be top-down innovation with coercive power strategies or coercive strategies from the ruling (central) superiors. Innovation aims to improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of implementing PAI learning. However, the Islamic Religious Education curriculum should cover all dimensions including attitudes and actions so that the Islamic Religious Education curriculum must be integrated with various other disciplines including integrated with local wisdom values. This research is a literature review research by collecting data and sources related to a particular topic where this information can be obtained from journals, research reports, books, e-books, other library sources. The results of the implementation of this research prove that local culture can be used as local treasures in the PAI learning curriculum which is able to eliminate religious education in learning at school and as an effort to eliminate cultural stuttering in students, so that they seek compensation in other cultures which in many ways have resistance. to religious values. Local content in the curriculum is based on Regulation of the Minister of Religion Number 2 of 2008 concerning Content Standards and Competency Standards for Graduates of Islamic Religious Education and Arabic in Madrasas as an effort to improve Competency Standards and Basic Competences.
Keywords: Curriculum Innovation, Islamic Religious Education, Local Wisdom Values.
