Arsitektur tradisional merupakan representasi konkret dari nilai-nilai budaya, kepercayaan, serta cara hidup
masyarakat lokal yang telah teruji oleh waktu. Di Aceh, Rumoh Aceh sebagai rumah adat tidak hanya
memiliki nilai estetika, tetapi juga simbolisme dan filosofi mendalam yang merefleksikan identitas
masyarakat Aceh. Dalam konteks perancangan museum budaya lokal, penting untuk menghadirkan
bangunan yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai ruang pameran, tetapi juga menjadi simbol representasi
budaya daerah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi konsep reinterpretasi arsitektur tradisional Aceh
dalam rancangan museum budaya lokal yang kontekstual dan relevan dengan kebutuhan masa kini. Metode
yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik studi literatur, observasi lapangan, analisis
elemen arsitektur tradisional, serta eksplorasi desain konseptual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa
elemen-elemen arsitektur tradisional seperti struktur panggung, bentuk atap limas, orientasi ruang, material
lokal, serta ornamen ukiran dapat diadaptasi secara kreatif dalam desain modern. Reinterpretasi dilakukan
bukan melalui duplikasi bentuk semata, tetapi melalui transformasi makna dan fungsi yang
mempertimbangkan aspek keberlanjutan, iklim tropis, teknologi konstruksi, dan kebutuhan ruang museum
kontemporer. Penerapan reinterpretasi ini mampu menciptakan museum yang tidak hanya fungsional dan
estetis, tetapi juga komunikatif secara kultural. Museum menjadi media edukatif yang tidak hanya
menampilkan artefak budaya, tetapi juga menampilkan arsitektur itu sendiri sebagai bagian dari narasi
budaya. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi referensi strategis bagi arsitek, perancang kebijakan, dan
pemangku budaya dalam merancang bangunan publik yang menghargai dan menghidupkan kembali nilainilai
arsitektur lokal.
