Abstract— Land for planting is one of the important aspects in the success of agriculture. Land is a physical environment that includes soil, climate, relief, hydrology and vegetation, where these factors affect the potential of its users. Vegetable planting efforts often experience obstacles, one of which is in determining the suitability of farmers' land for planting certain vegetables, because the productivity of vegetable plants depends on the quality of the land used. The selection of planting land at the beginning of planting greatly affects the quality of the vegetables that will be produced. Inappropriate land processing is due to the lack of knowledge and understanding of farmers regarding the condition of the land to be processed, whether it is in accordance with the type of vegetable plant to be planted and the difficulty of obtaining correct data regarding the facts of land conditions that are suitable for the type of vegetable plant, Therefore, an Expert System is needed that can determine the suitability of planting land to help farmers determine what types of vegetables are suitable for planting on their land without having to meet agricultural experts. This expert system is built using the Forward Chaining method.
Keywords: Land, method, expert system, forward chaining.
