Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi integrasi prinsip arsitektur vernakular Aceh dalam desain
fungsional perumahan di Gampong Neuheun, Kecamatan Mesjid Raya, Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Fokus
utama penelitian ini adalah bagaimana elemen-elemen arsitektur tradisional seperti penataan ruang yang
mencerminkan nilai adat, struktur keluarga, dan pola kehidupan sosial masyarakat Aceh, dapat
diakomodasi dalam konteks perumahan modern, khususnya pada perumahan bantuan dari pihak
eksternal. Pendekatan yang digunakan bersifat kualitatif dengan metode observasi lapangan, wawancara
dengan penghuni, dan analisis desain ruang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar
penghuni melakukan modifikasi terhadap rumah bantuan untuk menyesuaikan dengan kebutuhan
budaya local. Hal ini menunjukkan pentingnya perumahan yang tidak hanya layak secara fisik, tetapi
juga kontekstual secara sosial dan kultural. Temuan dari penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar prinsip
arsitektur vernakular Aceh dijadikan acuan awal dalam desain perumahan, terutama dalam program
bantuan, guna memastikan keberlanjutan, kenyamanan, dan keberterimaan oleh masyarakat lokal.
