Pembelajaran bahasa inggris yang diterapkan selama ini menggunakan metode ceramah oleh guru dalam pembelajaran mata pelajaran bahasa inggris (vocabulary dan tenses) diruang kelas untuk siswa SMA Negeri 4  Banda Aceh. Dengan metode ceramah membuat siswa untuk memahami vocabulary dan tenses sedikit terkendala disamping matapelajaran bahasa inggris (vocabulary dan tenses) tergolong mata pelajaran yang rumit, sehingga dengan metode ceramah membuat siswa kurang termotivasi dan kurangnya minat belajar, adapun hal ini juga dipahami oleh guru setelah hasil pembelajaran dengan metode ceramah dan dilakukan evaluasi melalui ujian, maka banyak siswa yang persentase untuk memahami vocabulary dan tenses dibawah 70%. Menjadi suatu kendala jika siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dengan metode ceramah yang diterapkan diruang kelas oleh guru untuk pembelajaran bahasa inggris (vocabulary dan tenses). Membantu mengatasi masalah ini dapat dilakukan dengan menerapkan model pengenalan dan pembelajaran bahasa inggris (vocabulary dan tenses) kepada siswa untuk meningkatkan pembelajaran dari metode ceramah selama ini. Model pengenalan dan  pembelajaran (vocabulary dan tenses)  akan diterapkan kedalam  aplikasi desktop untuk mendukung dan membantu guru dalam pembelajaran diruang kelas supaya siswa lebih memahami dan dapat meningkatkan suasana belajar serta membuat siswa lebih termotivasi. Aplikasi desktop (vocabulary dan tenses)  memberikan kemudahan dalam pembelajaran oleh guru yaitu dengan memperkenalkan vocabulary dan tenses kepada siswa tentang cara pengucapan yang benar serta membantu guru dalam mengevaluasi siswa melalui soal yang diberikan oleh aplikasi. Tujuan dari aplikasi ini dibuat adalah untuk membantu guru bahasa inggris dalam pembelajaran diruang kelas serta meningkatkan minat belajar siswa supaya lebih termotivasi.
