ANALISIS DAN PEMAMFAATAN METODE VARIABLE LENGTH SUBNET MASK (VLSM) GUNA MEMBANGUN JARINGAN LOKAL AREA NETWORK (LAN)

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh permasalahan yang ada pada Kantor Badan Nasional Pencarian dan Pertolongan (BNPP) yaitu mengalami fase dimana semakin bertambahnya Staff, secara tidak langsung juga bertambahnya Host/Komputer di setiap ruangan bagian, sehingga berkurangnya IP Address yang tersedia pada kelas C. Perancangan topologi dan pengalamatan Ip address jaringan komputer yang sudah ada menjadi kunci dari permasalahan yang ada dan harus dilakukan penelitian demi terciptanya suatu topologi dan subnetting Ip Address jaringan komputer yang tepat dan efisien. Untuk mengefisiensikan alokasi Ip Address dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode variable length subnet mask (VLSM). Rancang bangun dan Analisis IP Address ini melakukan pengalamatan jaringan dengan subnetting menggunakan metode VLSM untuk mengatur Ip Address semua host (Komputer) di setiap ruangan bagian kedalam jaringan komputer agar menjadi lebih baik. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat diimplementasikan di Kantor Badan Nasional Pencarian dan Pertolongan (BNPP).

This research is motivated by the problems that exist in the Search and Rescue Office (BASARNAS), namely experiencing a phase where the number of staff increases, indirectly the number of hosts/computers in each section of the room increases, resulting in a reduction in the available IP addresses in class C. Topology design and IP address addressing of existing computer networks is the key to existing problems and research must be carried out to create an appropriate and efficient computer network topology and IP subnetting. To make IP address allocation efficient in this research, the variable length subnet mask (VLSM) method is used. This IP Address Design and Analysis carries out network addressing by subnetting using the VLSM method to set the IP Address of all hosts (Computers) in each room in the computer network so that it becomes better. It is hoped that the results of this research can be implemented at the Search and Rescue Office.
