This study aims to develop an expert system as a tool for the early detection of stunting in toddlers using the forward chaining method. Stunting in toddlers is a significant health issue in Indonesia, particularly in the Baitussalam sub-district, Aceh Besar district. Delays in detecting stunting can negatively impact children’s physical and cognitive development. The expert system developed in this study uses the forward chaining method, a rule-based tracing approach that starts from initial data to reach a conclusion. Data were collected through interviews with nutritionists and healthcare workers, as well as health data from local health centers. This expert system is designed to analyze early signs of stunting in toddlers based on anthropometric parameters, dietary patterns, health history, and environmental conditions. Trial results indicate that this expert system has a high accuracy level in providing recommendations for early stunting detection, which can assist healthcare authorities in the Baitussalam sub district in taking preventive and remedial steps. The system's output is expected to serve as a useful model for improving child health in other regions where stunting remains a governmental concern.
