PENYULUHAN KESEHATAN TENTANG PENTINGNYA PEMBERIAN MP-ASI PADA BAYI 6-12 BULAN DI GAMPONG KAMPONG PUKAT KABUPATEN PIDIE
Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO)/United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF 2013), more than 50% of deaths of children under five are related to malnutrition, and two-thirds of these deaths are related to inappropriate feeding practices for infants and children, such as early initiation of breastfeeding within the first hour after birth and complementary feeding is not carried out too early or too late. This situation will make the immune system weak, often sick and fail to grow (Rivani, 2013). In Indonesia in 2013 only 27.5% of mothers gave exclusive breastfeeding and complementary foods, even though the Indonesian Ministry of Health itself targets that in 2014 the coverage of breastfeeding and complementary feeding is 80% (BERITA SATU.com, 2013). Extraordinary events (KLB) of disease in East Java are still very high from 2011-2012, one of which is diarrhea, which is strongly suspected of 70% of the incidence due to a lack of knowledge and behavior of mothers in paying attention to the safety and cleanliness of processing complementary foods for breast milk (Siswono, 2012).
