PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT MELALUI PEMBUATAN REPELAN HERBAL BUNGA KECOMBRANG UNTUK PENCEGAHAN DEMAM BERDARAH DENGUE DI DESA LAM GAPANG ACEH BESAR

Abstrak Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) merupakan salah satu penyakit berbasis lingkungan yang masih menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat di Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Tingginya populasi nyamuk Aedes aegypti sebagai vektor utama DBD memerlukan upaya pencegahan yang efektif, aman, dan ramah lingkungan. Salah satu alternatif yang dapat dikembangkan adalah penggunaan repelan herbal berbahan alami, seperti bunga kecombrang (Etlingera elatior) yang diketahui memiliki kandungan metabolit sekunder berpotensi sebagai penolak nyamuk. Tim dosen Ilmu Kesehatan dan mahasiswa Universitas Ubudiyah Indonesia melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di Desa Lam Gapang, Aceh Besar melalui program pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam pembuatan repelan herbal bunga kecombrang. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat mengenai pemanfaatan tanaman lokal sebagai upaya pencegahan DBD serta mendorong perilaku hidup sehat berbasis kearifan lokal. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi penyuluhan kesehatan, demonstrasi pembuatan repelan herbal, pelatihan praktik langsung, dan evaluasi pemahaman peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai bahaya DBD dan manfaat bunga kecombrang sebagai bahan alami penolak nyamuk. Selain itu, masyarakat mampu mempraktikkan secara mandiri proses pembuatan repelan herbal sederhana yang aman digunakan di lingkungan rumah tangga. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat mendukung upaya pencegahan DBD secara berkelanjutan serta meningkatkan pemanfaatan sumber daya alam lokal yang bernilai kesehatan dan ekonomis bagi masyarakat Desa Lam Gapang. Abstract Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is one of the environmental-based diseases that remains a public health problem in Aceh Besar Regency. The high population of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes as the primary vector of DHF requires prevention efforts that are effective, safe, and environmentally friendly. One alternative that can be developed is the use of herbal repellents made from natural ingredients, such as torch ginger (Etlingera elatior), which is known to contain secondary metabolites with potential mosquito-repellent activity. A team of lecturers conducted a community service program in Lam Gapang Village, Aceh Besar through a community empowerment initiative focused on the production of herbal torch ginger repellent. This activity aimed to improve community knowledge and skills regarding the utilization of local plants as an effort to prevent DHF and to promote healthy living behaviors based on local wisdom. The implementation methods included health education, demonstrations of herbal repellent preparation, hands-on practical training, and evaluation of participants’ understanding. The results of the activity showed an increase in community knowledge regarding the dangers of DHF and the benefits of torch ginger as a natural mosquito repellent. In addition, community members were able to independently practice the process of making simple herbal repellents that are safe for household use. This activity is expected to support sustainable DHF prevention efforts and enhance the utilization of local natural resources with health and economic value for the people of Lam Gapang Village. I. ORIGINALITY, AUTHORSHIP, AND COPYRIGHT

II. PERMISSION
The author is responsible for acquiring the permission(s) to reproduce any copyrighted figures, tables, data, or text that are being used in the submitted paper. Authors should note that text quotations of more than 250 words from a published or copyrighted work will require grant of permission from the original publisher to reprint. III. EDITORIAL REVIEW AND REVISION
All papers will be critically read by at least two anonymous reviewers, selected for their competence in the subject area of the paper. Acceptance of the paper will depend upon its scientific merit and suitability for the journal. A paper may be accepted in its original form or subject to revision.
The reviewers' (and editor's) suggestions will be conveyed to the author, who will then have an opportunity to revise the paper. A manuscript returned to an author for revision can be held for a maximum of eight weeks.
The accepted paper will be edited by native English speakers. The cost of language editing service is currently free.
IV. PROOFS
Galley proofs (PDF format) for an accepted article will be sent by e-mail to the corresponding author for copyediting corrections. The core content of an article cannot be changed at this time. It is the author's responsibility to check the entire manuscript, including tables, figure legends, and cited reference numbers, not just the items queried. The proofs should be corrected and mailed to the editorial office within 48 hours of receipt in order to expedite publication. Only one set of corrections will be accepted. In other words, it is important to ensure that all of your corrections are sent to us in one communication.
V. Â REPRINTS
Five free reprint copies of the published article will be shipped to the corresponding authors in Indonesia only, approximately two weeks after the issue is printed. Authors, including overseas authors, who wish to purchase reprints, are required to complete the Reprint Order Form, which will be sent with the galley proofs to corresponding authors. This form must be returned together with the corrected galley proofs.
