EDUKASI POSISI DALAM PROSES PERSALINAN di PMB JAMALIAH KABUPATEN PIDIE
Abstract

Background: The primary causes of maternal and infant mortality are childbirth complications, such as hemorrhage and prolonged labor. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2020, there were 69,000 cases of prolonged labor globally, contributing to 2.8% of maternal deaths worldwide, making it one of the leading causes of childbirth complications. The mother's position during pushing is a crucial factor in determining the success of the delivery process. The semi-sitting position can provide comfort to the mother as it helps her rest between contractions, shortens the birth canal, ensures optimal oxygen supply from the mother to the fetus, and utilizes gravity to facilitate the baby's delivery. Objective: The objective of this community service activity is to educate mothers on various positions during the childbirth process. Method: This community service activity was conducted through health education, including lectures, Q&A sessions, and demonstrations of childbirth positions. Conclusion: There was an increase in pregnant mothers' knowledge regarding various childbirth positions during the second stage of labor (pushing positions). It is recommended that mothers adopt comfortable childbirth positions to expedite the delivery process, with the support of midwives and family members.
